Julius Julius
Lord Alcedor! Something horrifying is happening in Darsov's cathedral. Please come see us there.

Trouble at the Cathedral is a side quest in Infernax. During it, you help Father Henry and Julius rid a fellow priest from demonic possession. Depending on the method chosen, you can either do it yourself or require the help of a more qualified individual. Interestingly enough, this quest has a minimum morality requirement, but the chances of it coming into play are very low.

Walkthrough[]

This quest becomes available as soon as you clear Stormheim Castle. Once its seal is broken, Julius will meet you right outside Darsov's walls in either Valeshire or Darsov Shire and talk to you, which starts the quest. If you want to leave starting the quest for later, you can teleport into Darsov instead.

Cross icon Go to Darsov's cathedral[]

This step is mostly self-explanatory. Go to Darsov's cathedral, enter the door to the sleeping quarters and you'll be met with a possessed priest levitating on the other corner of the room, surrounded by pink miasma. Once you approach him, a short scene will play.

Cross icon Take care of the possessed man.[]

From here onwards, you have two methods of completing the quest. The method you should choose depends on what path you wish to take; if you want more moral score, you should save him. Otherwise, don't waste your time and end all of this right here and there, with your very own hands.

Save the priest[]

To save the priest, you will need to find a way to rid the possession from his body without killing him. Father Henry will give you a tip if you talk to him: look for a man named Gregor and he will do the exorcism for you.

Gregor can be found inside an abandoned church deep into Tohan Passage. The way forward can be treacherous if you're going from Arkos, specially at night. Going from Darsov is easier, but also longer; the recommended spot to start from are the Shores of Upel.

Additionally, you will need to kill the Werewolf boss so that he can open the way for you if you haven't already; if you have, simply follow the way until you come to a church. Enter it, speak to Gregor and he will agree to perform the exorcism, even if you have a low moral score. You will both be instantly taken back to the cathedral, where you can witness the exorcism take place and talk to everyone involved once the quest is over.

After all is done and well, you can talk to the possessed priest and he will mention a demon named Azazel. Gregor will also invite you back to his chapel to discuss certain matters... wonder what that's all about? Check The Necronomicon page for more details.

Reward[]

Kill the priest[]

If you want to lose morality score to help you with meeting the requirements for cult quests or for any other reason, you can instead kill the priest. Simply whack him with your weapon of choice thrice and he will go down. Father Henry and Julius will be visibly upset, but what can you do?

Trivia[]

  • The priest in a quest seem to be possessed by Azazel. It is speculated from a dialog you get from the possessed priest after exorcism: "In my mind I heard his name over and over. Azazel...".
